Full-Time Domestic Violence Responder (DVR) Coordinator/Special Assessment Liaison Specialist (SAIL) – Madison County
Mondays – Fridays 40 hours/week, hours vary; nights and weekends as necessary

Major Accountabilities - DVR Coordinator
Coordinates Domestic Violence Responder Program.
Coordinates schedules of DV Responders.
Provides emotional support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence.
Provides referrals to services for domestic violence victims not residing in shelter.
Responds to domestic violence calls with law enforcement on emergency calls, as needed
Major Accountabilities - SAIL Specialist
Assesses each referred client to determine the extent to which domestic violence is a factor in the client’s life and the effect of the violence on the client’s efforts to participate in employment activities.
Provides assistance in case management to clients referred by Madison County DHR
Provides education, information, and referrals to domestic violence victims requesting services.
Assists DHR in development and revision of Individual Service Plans addressing domestic violence and client needs.
Major Accountabilities – For Both Positions
Provides domestic violence assessment, safety planning, referrals and case management for clients.
Learns, promotes, and provides trauma-informed, client-centered services.
Advocates for clients with other service providers
Enters data into VELA and provides data and information to supervisor and other staff.
Serves as staff on-call in rotation with other staff.
Provides medical advocacy for victims of domestic violence who come to Crisis Services for forensic exams.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, or equivalent experience preferred
Completion of Crisis Services training program, and ACADV required training
Sensitivity in area of domestic violence
Ability to work manage time, work independently, and manage several projects at once
Excellent communication skills, oral and written, organizational skills, and record keeping
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Discretion and confidentiality required
Requires confidentiality, proof of reliable transportation, insurable through agency auto insurance as well as current auto insurance and a valid AL Driver’s License.
