This program will include:

• A proclamation from the Mayor’s Office about National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

• Words from a survivor

• Guest Speaker Everette L. Johnson, ED from Alabama Crime Victims Compensation Commission

• A keynote by Guest Speaker Gabrielle Helix, State Resource Prosecutor, who will address:

  • The long-term effects survivors face beyond the immediate crisis,

  • How intimate partner violence is more than physical abuse—encompassing emotional, psychological, financial, and technological abuse, and

  • Her perspective as a prosecutor on the impact domestic violence has on families and our broader community.
