The 40-hour Online Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE-P) Training prepares registered nurses to provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care to infants, children, and adolescents who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual assault, exploitation, and other forms of interpersonal violence.

Designed for flexible online learning, this comprehensive program combines expert-led instruction, interactive case studies, videos, research, and self-paced learning modules to build a strong foundation in pediatric forensic nursing. Participants will develop knowledge in child development, pediatric anatomy, medical-forensic history taking, injury recognition, forensic photography, documentation, evidence collection, sexually transmitted infection management, mandatory reporting, courtroom preparation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The online course is designed to prepare nurses for the next step in their education through participation in a 16-hour hands-on Clinical Skills Laboratory (CSL), where learners practice examination techniques, pediatric and adolescent anogenital anatomy identification, evidence collection, forensic documentation, and trauma-informed communication under the guidance of experienced forensic nurse educators and Forensic Teaching Associates (FTAs).
